Slack and INARY put the AI in different places.

Slack is a conversation tool with AI added on. INARY is business chat built on the premise that the AI is inside the conversation. Here is the comparison on pricing, AI, and free-plan limits, using each company's published figures.

Pricing (official sites, as of September 28, 2026)

Slack lists Pro at US$7.25 per user per month (annual), Business+ at US$15 (annual), and Enterprise+ by sales inquiry. The free plan keeps 90 days of message history, and access to the past 12 months requires an upgrade.

INARY is free to start with unlimited members (90 days of history). Paid plans are US$4.79 per user per month (annual) for 1 to 30 people, US$4.31 for 31 to 100, and US$3.35 for 101 to 299, so the unit price falls as the team grows. AI is billed by usage rather than by seat, and an administrator can set a cap.

Where the AI lives

On Slack's pricing page, AI features are listed from Business+ upward. In INARY, the AI is inside the conversation on every plan. It researches with the thread's context, and the answer appears in the same thread for everyone to read. The models are ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok, in one account.

When Slack is the better fit

Slack has years of accumulated app integrations and a large base of people who already know it. If you have many external tools connected to Slack and AI is a nice-to-have, staying on Slack avoids the cost of moving. INARY's connectors today are Google, GitHub, Zoom, and Shopify.

When INARY is the better fit

Teams that want AI in their decisions, want to give AI to everyone without worrying about seats, or want several AI models under one contract are a better fit for INARY. The ask-and-paste routine that comes with Slack plus a personal ChatGPT does not exist in INARY to begin with.

01

Can we import our Slack history?

Bulk import of past conversations is not offered. We recommend starting new projects in INARY threads. It is free with unlimited members, so a single team can try it.

02

Can we use INARY alongside Slack?

Yes. Many teams start by moving only the discussions that use AI into INARY and keeping the rest in Slack.

03

Where can I check the prices?

INARY's prices are on the pricing page. Slack's prices are on Slack's official site. The figures on this page are as published on September 28, 2026.
